Amesbury

Amesbury is a small village on Salisbury Plain with Stonehenge in its Parish. Obviously there has been settlements in this area for thousands of years.Among the countless artifacts that have been found in the area is the Amesbury Archer the Bronze age man's body who was found with a number of arrow heads and is now on display in Salisbury museum.

One other legend cocerning Amesbury is that Queen Guinivere the wife of King Arthur is believed to have retired to a convent in the area.

One other interesting fact is that the Beatles stayed in Amesbury in the Antrobus Arms Hotel in 1965 during the filming of the Help film. So why not relive a bit of history and stay there.
